We use ½" PVC (matte) and ¼" Alupanel (glossy).
Both materials are light, durable and will not fade nor rust. We do not use wood as it rots and chips or metal as it rusts and tarnishes.
How much is a backlit address?
To add backlighting to the sign, it would be the price of the sign plus an additional $300+tax for a cursive font and $350+tax for a modern/print font. This would include the lights themselves, the wiring, the transformer, and the timer. Do note, for non-cursive fonts, some wiring will be visible due to the fact that each letter is separate.
How is it manufactured?
The sign is manufactured with the LED lights adhered to the back side of letters. A clear acrylic strip is then mounted along the sign. This strip provides a track that will reduce the amount of holes required for the installation, provide support for the sign since it will be offset / not flush against the wall, and to provide a track for the wiring. This leaves a minimal amount of visible wires. Do note, for non-cursive fonts, some wiring will be visible due to the fact that each letter is separate.
How is it installed?
Our installers level and center their installation stencil. This outlines the final product. Once the position has been confirmed by the customer, they drill holes into the wall. These holes mirror the studs on the reverse side of the address. For brick walls, additional holes will be drilled through the garage where the wiring will be connected into the interior of the garage where the power source is located. For siding, stucco, or wood surface the wiring will run down the wall through the garage door and be connected to a power source inside the garage. The backlit sign will be offset / not flush against the wall.
Backlit locations?
Signs can be installed anywhere on the exterior of the house. However, backlit signs are only available above the garage where an easily accessible source of power can be found. Backlit plaques can be installed almost anywhere as long as there is an available power source, just note that the wiring would be exposed.
How long do LEDs last for?
Our LEDs have a lifespan of 10,000 hours. However external factors may shorten this expectancy, such as weather, water/moisture, and physical damages.
What LED colour options do you carry?
Our company carries 3500k (warm white) and 5000k (cool white).
LED warranty?
Our company provides a 3 year warranty on the backlighting, and 5 year warranty on the sign. For full details, please refer to our warranty page.
Our turnaround is 1-2 weeks. Installations within the GTA are usually within the same week of confirmation, while more distant orders may take up to 3 weeks for installation.
